The world's energy need will grow by over 50 per cent by the year 2030. Because conventional and renewable energy sources alone will not be enough to meet this growth, a sustainable solutions to the shortage of energy can only be found with energy saving and energy efficiency. Growth is expected especially in the following sectors: energy efficiency, cleaner energy production technologies, safe water and waste water, material efficiency and waste management, as well as traditional energy technolgies.
