Finpro together with Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Ice Constituency Office is organizing a Trade Mission to ADB headquarters in Manila.
The Mission
The Mission will take place from March 8th to 12th. Depending on participant interests, a side trip to Indonesia can be organized to find out more about locally/internationally financed project opportunities in Indonesia. The timing of the side trip will be March 11th to 12th. Hence, effective working days in Manila are from Monday evening the 8th to Wednesday evening the 10th.
Another possible option in conjunction with the Mission (still to be confirmed) is to join Mr. Pekka Huhtaniemi, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Trade and Policy delegation to Manila tentatively scheduled for March 15th to 16th. The delegation concerns Philippine business opportunities.
ADB
This is an opportune time to visit ADB. The Bank will increase its capital base twofold and extend loan/grant programs to countries with which it has coopertated less during the past few years.
Also, ADB has harmonized its proceedings during the last few years to make contracting and procurement procedures less bureaucratic and more friendly to smaller companies. ADB’s recently adopted Long-Term Strategic Framework, Strategy 2020, emphasizes more private sector operations.

Company participants join the Mission from all Ice Constituency countries (Canada, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Ireland and Denmark). Previous Finnish delegates have found networking with the other participants useful.
