Finpro's International Board Member service helps Finnish companies find and network with board member candidates that have international experience. The service has been developed for Finnish small and medium sized companies with ambitious objectives regarding the growth and internationalization of their business. The service is aimed at companies with board of directors and management team that are enthusiastic and committed to developing the company's strategic competences.

Board member candidates will be identified through Finpro's extensive expert network, which operates in almost 50 countries. Our experts have good connections to local board professionals and networks that allow us to find an experienced board member candidate with the right profile for your company.

During the pilot phase of the International Board Member service, we offer the opportunity to find board member candidates from Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.   

This consulting service involves working through the following stages together:

1. We review the company's strategic needs and create a profile for the board member candidate.
2. We define the growth path for the company – this is the area in which the new board member is particularly expected to apply his/her expertise.
3. We find and analyze the board member candidates.  
4. We propose two board member candidates for your company.
5. After six months of board work, we organize a follow-up discussion with the selected board member and the chairman of the board. If needed, we support both parties in utilizing the common know-how and interpreting any cultural differences.
