The retail landscape is changing fast. When asking the most important factor driving choices to purchase online, 55 percent of people say it's about saving money, says Tobias Tanner, recognized thought leader on lifestyle and luxury experiences. 

On the other hand, 51 percent of people replying to the survey say they prefere shopping in store to "feel the product".

Whatever a brand's strategy is, Tanner speaks for establishing social media communities and giving consumers experiences. Tanner's three examples of digital brand successes are:

  • Hiut Denim Co. has built an amazing community via social media. They use Facebook for ads but their newsletter is the most important sales tool they have.

  • Cheapo Brand sends a clear message to people in their advertisements and online, thus strongly communicating their brand philosophy. 

  • Paper & Tea responded to the lack of tea education. For them graphics and visuality are extremely important.

 

"But remember, it's not all about you. Give back to your community!", reminds Tanner.
