Finnish brands tapped into fashion-loving Tokyo

16 Finnish fashion and accessories brands travelled to Tokyo in September to meet local professionals and media in Finpro's Lifestyle Finland event. Lifestyle Finland - Fashion & Accessories was organised in Aoyama area close to the Omotesando shopping street, in an event space owned by newly opened Trunk Hotel.

The two-day event was visited by fashion & accessories buyers from key department stores like Matsuya and Isetan and by smaller select shops and Japanese importers, distributors and fashion media such as Elle Japan and Fashionsnap.com. The event attracted over 100 professional visitors and 70 fashion journalists from various medias.  

In addition to B2B meetings, Finnish companies attended three seminars covering information about the fashion market, Finland's image, and social media in Japan. During the event, Lifestyle Finland Pop-up Shop also sold design items by 10 Finnish brands to Japanese consumers.

The participating brands from Finland were Arela, Formal Friday, Frenn, Gemmi, Golla, Haló, Ivana Helsinki, Lovia, Lumi, Marita Huurinainen, Myssyfarmi, Nanso, Nomen Nescio, Papu, Vejits, Vestiarium.
