Finnish lifestyle brand Lapuan Kankurit opening first store in Japan
Respected Finnish interior and lifestyle brand Lapuan Kankuritis opening their first store in Japan on September 1. The shop is located in Slow HouseFutakotamagawa in Tokyo. The roots of Lapuan Kankurit family business stretch back to the opening of the family's first textile factory in 1917. The brand's designs are woven in Lapua, in the middle of the Ostrobothnian fields in Finland.
"Japan is our biggest market outside Finland and we want to be as near to our customers as possible also in Japan. This is why we have been looking for our own place, where we could show our customers our way of living. And now we found home from Futako Tamagawa.", says ms. Jaana Hjelt, marketing director of Lapuan Kankurit.
Lapuan Kankurit is a member of Finpro's Lifestyle Finlandprogram and the company has been participating in many program activities in Japan. Japanese market is one of the key growth markets for many Finnish design companies. Lifestyle Finland program is actively supporting Finnish companies open up and expand their sales in Japan through range of activities including bringing buyers to Finland, buyer and media showrooms in Japan and Finnish pavilion in the major trade show IFFT.
